Jon Cunningham is thrilled to be directing again after last year’s successful production of DAMN YANKEES, on which he also worked with his wife Michelle.
Past directing experience includes THE HOMECOMING and the Street Theatre program with the Schaumburg Park District; YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and as assistant director of CHAIM'S LOVE SONG at the Attic Playhouse in Highwood. Next winter, Jon will assistant direct White Horse Theatre Company’s production of THE CRADLE WILL ROCK.
Jon also has many acting credits on his resume including DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP? (Eddie Ryan), SLEEPING BEAUTY (Prince Hunter), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR (Simon Zelotes), and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNOCOLOR DREAMCOAT (Zebulun) with Winnetka Theatre; THE DRAWER BOY (Miles), PIECE OF MY HEART (Man), and RUN FOR YOUR WIFE (Stanley Gardner) with Attic Playhouse; and TOMMY (Cousin Kevin), MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG (Charlie Kringas), and I SING! (Nicky) with White Horse Theatre Company. Last year, Jon received a Jeff Citation Award nomination for leading actor in a musical for his performance in MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG.
Currently, Jon is understudying the role of Eddie in OVER THE TAVERN at Theatre at the Center in Munster, Indiana. Next spring, he will perform the role of Tabaqui the Jackal in THE JUNGLE BOOK with Emerald City Theatre Company.
Jon is a member of Winnetka Theatre's Board of Governors, as well as a member of White Horse Theatre Company's Artistic Board.
